Leech & Partners started as a boutique accounting practice with a specialty in agribusiness, but with strong growth, it wasn’t long before developing an edge in commercial accounting with specialised knowledge in construction, trades, hospitality, and property.
35 years’ later and the team has grown to 50+, spread across two offices in Ashburton and Christchurch. We support clients nationwide with agriculture accounting, commercial accounting, business advisory, bookkeeping, future planning, and more.
For us, it’s not about the numbers, it’s about the people. We support, enable, and grow our people and clients. We want to add value, together!
Due to growth, we have opportunities in our Agri team. You will provide accounting and advisory services to a portfolio of agri clients, including the preparation of:
- Financial statements, drafting and finals.
- Tax returns for Individuals, Trusts, Partnerships, Companies, and Incorporated Societies.
- GST, FBT, & RWT returns, plus preparation of dividends and/or DWT returns.
- Cashflow reports, budgets, provisional tax estimates and other advisory jobs as necessary.
Key to this role is building trusted relationships with clients and having a deep understanding of their business. You will identify opportunities and explore better ways of doing things, providing sound advice to clients that enhances their business.
You will be part of a supportive team and enjoy assisting junior team members. You will assist in the delivery of projects and processes, actively working towards achieving firmwide goals.
You will have strong technical skills gained from experience in a Public Practice environment with some focus on agri clients, along with holding a tertiary qualification in accounting.
You will have been exposed to a variety of modern accounting and practise management software, using these to effectively manage jobs and remain organised.
Looking past the numbers will be a key strength; demonstrate your ability to proactively solve problems and understanding the ‘why’. You will thrive on being curious; asking good questions, while knowing where to find information and what tools are available.
You will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and time management.
Not only is this a great role but also an opportunity to join a small team with an ambitious future. This is your chance to be part of a team that has a sense of value and purpose, offering a supportive culture.
While we are looking for someone full time, we would be open to discuss part time or flexible working arrangements.
If this sounds like you and are legally entitled to work in New Zealand, then we want to hear from you
